I was so eager to see how this month would turn out at eHow since we were told in early April that we could no longer add articles to the eHow Writers Compensation Plan, but that our existing articles would continue to earn. My April earnings were down from March, but still my second highest month ever at $206.28. Since I added no articles in April, this represents completely residual income. My total eHow earnings to date now stand at $3283.85.
Despite the fact that I was already an approved writer at Demand Studios, I don't plan to do any writing there for the time being. Frankly, the articles are just too much work for the money. I would rather invest my time on other sites and creating other residual income streams. But I am glad to have the eHow articles as a residual income stream for as long as it lasts. In a way this change at eHow has freed me up to focus on other things and that is a positive.
I hope your April was good, at eHow and otherwise. I'd love to hear where you're focusing your efforts now.

Hi Julie,
I agree, now that we're unable to post new articles it cuts down on the frustration with the publishing bugs and frees up time to investigate other opportunities. I'm not feeling very inspired to write much lately so I've been trying to promote what I've already got published online. I've been spending some time on Redgage and so far so good. I see from a previous post that you've done the same. I've earned 2 feature bonuses so far on a pic and a video and I'm having fun posting more of those. Lots of other ehowers on Redgage doing the same.
Another site that I see potential with is MyLikes. They pay you per click for sponsored "likes" you tweet or blog about. I've gotten a raise from .21/click to .28/click which is inspiring and I've qualified for my 3rd weekly payout. It only takes a few minutes out of my day to work this one and I'm looking forward to growing my income on that site. If you'd like to check it out I'd be honored to refer you if you decide to join. http://mylikes.com/signup?token=bestmommy
I'm heading over to your Redgage content next.
Take care!
Posting articles is really similar to the old method. The only difference is that someone is sweeping it before publishing. If it was eventually going to be pulled, now you get the chance to fix it. Also the pre-titled articles are back. At first I was worried about eHow; now I see that it has improved.

I'm focusing on Suite101 right now; however, the suggested title "how to" format at DS sounds very appealing.
Anon - Are you not having to provide a reference for your DS articles?
Julie, $200/month is a nice little sum for residual income. I bet it took a lot of hard work to get to that number.
I'll be focusing on other things since I don't enjoy writing for eHow anymore. If things change, I'll be sure to return to it.
Moon - I'm with you. I'm focused on other things right now too. Thanks for your comments, everyone!
I'm focusing all my energies at HubPages, and loving it. After eHow I'm finding it easy to use and a nice friendly community and wonderful support people. It's a pleasure to be writing there.
